2025 Drinking Water Quality Report for Calendar Year 2024 Available
Durango West Metro District #2’s Annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) is now available on our website under the Services tab and at this direct URL: https://www.dgowest2.com/files/6a4fd7bda/CCR2025.pdf
The CCR is a thorough analysis required by State Health to ensure that customers have the opportunity to understand the quality of the water they are receiving. If you would like a copy emailed to you, please email the District Manager at dw2@dgowest2.com. For questions about the water quality analysis, please call our water operator Dave Marsa at 759-1609.
Street Sweeping Week of June 10th
Street sweeping will begin Tuesday, June 10th and last for the remainder of the week. DO NOT park on the street. Your help in removing needles and pine cones in front of your residence will help reduce the time the street sweeper will be on the road, thereby reducing the cost to the district and noise in the neighborhood.
Take a few minutes to clean up the street curb gutter in front of your house.
Community Garage Sale is June 14!
The DW2 Community Garage Sale is on Saturday, June 14th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Road Maintenance
Our road maintenance projects have begun with crackfilling and/or patching throughout the subdivision. These include Pine Ridge Loop, Oak View Circle and Elm Court, Cedar Drive. Ryan Court, Fir Drive, Wedgewood Drive and Oak Drive. They will finish up July 14-18, including crackfilling various roads and sealcoating on Wedgewood Drive. Road painting of traffic sign reminders will take place after this.
Trail Access
The district does have a 40 foot wide easement along the edge of 747 Oak Drive. Residents have the right to access greenbelt trails via this trail access easement. Users should be respectful as they go down the driveway, through the gate and down the dirt road into the gulch greenbelt trails. The district will be replacing the trail sign in the next few months.
Wildfire Mitigation Starts Mid-June
This year's District wildfire mitigation project will begin mid June. Scroll to bottom story for details. Homeowners are responsible for their own mitigation. See our local Wildfire Adapted Partnership website for mitigation resources along with resources on Defensible Space and Home Ignition Zones.
Nuisance Barking - Be Considerate
Warm weather means more windows are open, day and night. Please be considerate of your neighbors. Barking dogs, in particular, are not only annoying to your neighbors but can be a violation of the La Plata County Code. To report a violation of the code, please contact the La Plata County Humane Society at (970) 259-2847. More information
Find Your Water Shutoff
If you don't know where your main water shut off is located outside, now is the time to locate and mark it. Some residents have landscaped over theirs. It is important that you know where your shut off is for repairs, emergency, etc. and have it accessible to you and the district. If you don't know where it is, you can contact our water operator to assist you for a fee or contact Novo Utility Services, Tommy Novotny at 303-999-9892 who can help you. www.novoutilityservices.com You should also know where your sewer clean out is also.
Fire Hydrants - Three Foot Clearance
If you have a fire hydrant on your property, please keep it accessible year-round. Summer is a great time to remove shrubs, branches, etc that block visual and physical access. There should be a three-foot clear circle around the hydrant.
Next Board Meeting is June 18th at 5 p.m. at the Mail House
